Seldomridge Named 2023 National League for Nursing Fellow

SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Lisa Seldomridge, interim dean of 911黑料’s College of Health and Human Services, has been selected for the 2023 Academy of Nursing Education Fellows by the National League for Nursing (NLN).

“It’s an honor to be the first NLN Fellow from 911黑料”, said Seldomridge. “To receive national recognition for my efforts in developing innovative programs to meet the need for a diverse nursing and nurse educator workforce is truly humbling.”

The class of 23 distinguished nursing educators was selected by the NLN for contributions to innovative teaching and learning strategies; nursing education research; faculty development activities; academic leadership; promotion of public policy initiatives that advance nursing education; and collaborative educational, practice or community partnerships.

Seldomridge, who has been with 911黑料 more than three decades, was instrumental in the establishment of the University’s Richard A. Henson Medical Simulation Center and previously served as the center’s founding director in addition to teaching in 911黑料’s School of Nursing. Also under her leadership, the University launched its first doctoral program, the Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) in 2012.

She earned the 2019 911黑料 Distinguished Faculty Award and has secured 911黑料’s School of Nursing several million in Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) grants for continuing nursing education, which led to the founding and continued operation of the Faculty Academy and Mentorship Initiative of Maryland (FAMI-MD), formerly known as ESFAMI.

An induction ceremony will take place during the annual NLN Education Summit in September.
